What if every time we thought to express our feelings or thoughts to someone else we knew that their response would be, “I’m glad to hear that.”
“I’m tired,” might become, “I’m tired, so I think I’m going to take a brief rest to recharge myself.”
“I’m super sick of dealing with Bob,” might become, “I’m super sick of dealing with Bob so I’m going to talk to him about it and see if we can figure out our differences.”
“The weather outside is super depressing today,” might become, “The weather outside is super depressing today, but it’s a great day to get a few things done in the house.”
“Everything is stupid,” might just be better off left inside your head so you can spare others of your negative attitude infecting them until better thoughts can push that thought out.
There is nothing wrong with feeling like crap, seeing the bad in the world, or having a less-than-stellar day, but I can guarantee that others, and the world itself, would really appreciate it if you kept that to yourself or found a way to make the most out of a temporary bad situation rather than tainting their day with your negativity.
